Science- Animal Research Project
In science, our class is beginning a research project about animals and their habitats. Each child will be researching an animal and how it survives in it’s natural habitat. Kids will be learning more about their animal’s diet, predators, adaptations, shelter and more.
They will primarily use the website 'World Book Online' (see link below) to do their research here at school, but they can research the animals that they are interested in on the PBS Kids 'Wild Kratts- Creaturepedia' website (see link below).
The majority of this project will be completed at school, both in class and in the computer lab,
but a little preliminary research at home will really help us kick off this project in a timely manner.
This week’s assignment at home!
Please help your child to visit the World Book website to sort through and narrow their choices down to their top 3 animals they would like to learn more about (no domesticated animals like cats or dogs please). Every student is guaranteed one of their 3 choices for their project. Please help your child fill out the ‘Top 3 Animal Choices’ slip that came home in their homework folder today, and return it with the homework folder on Friday. Kids will get their animal assignment (1 of their 3 choices) and begin their research next week in the computer lab.
